Here are the articles I reprinted this week:
Happy Saturday everybody. This week I reviewed the webcomic turned graphic novel Rapture Burgers Volume 1. Check it out - they even quoted me on the back of their book! Here are the articles I reprinted this week: Image Comics Announces Repulse "After showing his artistic skills in his debut title Spawn, Szymon Kudranski has unveiled his latest project called Repulse, a dark science-fiction thriller." Deadpool Kills Deadpool "Once upon a time, Deadpool killed the Marvel universe. And no, that’s not a fairy tale. Deadpool really killed the entire Marvel Universe in the mini-series Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe. But, being everyone’s favorite Merc with a Mouth and a less-than-sane brain, Deadpool didn’t stop there. Next, Deadpool killed the classic characters we all know and were bored with in English class, including Moby Dick and Mowgli, in the follow-up mini-series Deadpool Killustrated. Now, to finally end the “Deadpool Killology,” we will be getting Deadpool Kills Deadpool this July." Herculian #1 Review "Take a trip back to the golden-age with this reprint of Erik Larsen’s Popgun strip’s and his 24-hour comic “Guy Talk.” There are plenty of problems that can be scrutinized with this comic due mostly to its age, but it is still a fun read – the only question is whether or not it is worth the five dollar price tag and if you can withstand the other half of the comic that is offensive. I will be mentioning how the art works with the story but I will refrain from rating it for one simple reason – all art was similar to this comic back in the Golden Age, so if you’re familiar with the style and either like it or don’t care you should be fine." Dracula: The Company of Monsters #9 Review "Luckily, after reading a terrible seventh issue and a decent eighth issue Dracula: The Company of Monsters #9 hits many soft spots but still has quite a few rough patches that make me question why the series has been so acclaimed since the first issue. The battle between Conrad and Dracula finally begins here, with Evan playing the double-crosser of both Dracula and Conrad seeking help from the vampire-hunter Marta and her gang." Who's Who Featuring Arm-Fall-Off-Boy "In this new feature, Who’s Who, I'm going to introduce you to comic book characters you’ve never heard of. This week we have some of the weirdest characters and teams you’ve never heard of from comics you have heard of, including Arm-Fall-Off-Boy, Death Throws, Dr. Robert Doom, Elf With a Gun and Number One Fan!" MacGyver: Fugitive Gauntlet #1 Review "When Image Comics say this is a fast-paced adventure story they're right. And it's a fairly enjoyable one too, despite the artistic flaws and some storyline elements."
