Here are the articles I reprinted this week:
I have a question for everyone this week. I've reprinted so many reviews that on most computers the list that pops up when you scroll over "Reviews" is so long it doesn't fit on the screen. Do you guys think I should get rid of it? Instead, you can just click on "Reviews," which has a list of everything I've reprinted so far and things that are coming soon. What do you guys think? Should I eliminate the scrolling option? Also, if you have any other suggestions let me know. Have a happy Halloween everybody! Here are the articles I reprinted this week: The Player Affinity Comic Book Awards 2011 "To start off 2012 with a bang, we are announcing the Comic Awards: anything from greatest hero to greatest event is here." "After a great first issue full of originality no less was expected from the next issue of the Malignant Man. Instead, not only are most of the secrets in the series revealed with way too much exposition but the mediocre art makes the issue harder to look at than the first, the originality from the first issue is only slightly present in this issue." Lady Rawhide Returns "Back in 1994 a masked vigilante first appeared on the printed page as a part of the Zorro mythos. Her name was Anita Santiago and with her mask and revealing uniform she became Lady Rawhide (no relation to the Rawhide Kid). She was as skilled in sword fighting as Zorro was and was proficient with guns and her signature bullwhip. After being an enemy to Zorro, Lady Rawhide became his confidante and ally. Why bring up this old western vixen? Because thanks to Dynamite Entertainment she's back!" Malignant Man #3 Review "Malignant Man has a great plot filled with interesting (though far from unique) ideas that really stand out when compared to other comics, with likeable characters, solid writing, and with only a few characters that need some work. This issue is great, but not outstanding, mostly thanks to the artwork."

Another short update this week. Also, don't miss out on my current articles over at Entertainment Fuse. I recently did an interview with David Kot. He is the founder of Face Value Comics, a group making a comic book that is the first ever to feature a protagonist with autism (it took this long?). Here are the articles I reprinted this week: Spider-Man Joins the Fantastic Four "After the Fantastic Four member Johnny Storm was torched-out in Fantastic Four #587, it was asked who would replace him, if anyone? None other then the famous wall-crawler Spider-man! It is not much of a surprise since Spider-man’s alliance with the Fantastic Four goes back to the first issue of his own series, The Amazing Spider-man #1 back in 1963. He had asked them then if they wanted to hire a new member for there team and now they have finally given him an answer: yes!" You Missed that Issue?! Orange Volume 1 "Welcome to another addition of You Missed That Issue?! where we tell you about a particular comic that has been neglected, much to the dismay of its creators and the people who have taken the time to read it. This hidden masterpiece we have today can only be bought on an iPod: Orange – and I warn you now there will be spoilers!" You Missed that Issue?! Shadow Hunter #1 "Welcome to another segment of "You Missed That Issue" where we talk about a current issue that did not garner as much attention as it should have. You won't see the usually big time titles like Superman or Batman but a title you may have never even heard of. Hopefully this will give you some incentive to pick it up for the classic issue it is – but beware of spoilers!"
Another short update this week! I hope everyone is enjoying October and if you're at NYCC that you're having fun. Here are the articles I reprinted this week: Frankenstein Alive, Alive #1 Review "If you are a fan of the Frankenstein monster, there is no reason not to pick this title up. The black-and-white artwork fits the dreary mood of the comic, the narration is great and the story, while not revolutionary, is enjoyable. And not only will you be getting a comic book, you will also be getting the beginning of a serialization of Mary Shelley's renowned novel that started it all, as well as interviews and essays." First Look: The Incredible Hulk #3 "The third installment of the Incredible Hulk will be released in December with Hulk sporting a somewhat "Conan the Barbarian" look. The third issue will be the finale of the first story arc of the new Incredible Hulk series. Check out the first four pages..."
Another short update this week, please let me know if you like the site and if you don't tell me why. Any feedback is appreciated. Also remember to check out my current stuff on Entertainment Fuse! I recently did an interview with Rodrigo Caballero on his project "Comics with a Cause: Speaking Out on Violence Against Women." Here are the articles I reprinted this week: Panel Piracy: Asking for a Different Kind of Pirate and Scanner "Try to ask a pirate or scanner to stop doing what they do is like asking me to stop collecting comic books: it’s never going to happen. Every letter criticizing pirates or scanners never hurts them. If the legality or morality of their actions really get to them, it will be their conscious, not an article, making them stop. Critical articles sometimes even fuel them on to become modern day Robin Hoods who give consumers a big corporation like DC or Marvel’s product. But those modern day robin hoods are starting to become more and more unstable. Which is why I’m asking for a different kind of pirate and scanner: a pirate who pays back and a scanner who promotes others rather than exploits them." Green Arrow vs. Hawkeye "This is the sixth installment of our versus feature where we judge two superheroes for their strengths and weaknesses and put them against each other in a play-by-play to see who would be the one and only winner. This week we have DC and Marvel's top archers. Who will win?"
