Here are the articles I reprinted this week:
I hope everyone had a great week! This week I wrote a news story about the upcoming Cartoon Network crossover comic book Super Secret Crisis War! on Entertainment Fuse and another news story about the upcoming Image Comics series Madame Frankenstein on Comic Frontline. Be sure to check both those out! Here are the articles I reprinted this week: A Dark Spy Story: Velvet Announced "I’m not a big fan of the spy genre. James Bond never interested me, but I enjoy an occasional Danger Girl. Velvet is Image Comics latest ongoing comic book series that is a spy comic with a “dark twist.” The series will be the first creator-owned project from Ed Brubaker (Fatale) and Steve Epting (The Avengers), who previously teamed-up to write the popular Captain America: Winter Soldier series." Deathstroke #17 Review "With only one more issue left after this, Deathstroke keeps kicking up the action. After switching from Rob Liefeld to Justin Jordan via issue 15, I wasn't too impressed with the first story arc Jordan gave us. But it wasn't bad, and this one certainly isn't either. However, it is flawed, and it makes me ask a question: are ninjas really "cool?""

Hey everybody, happy Easter weekend (or, for anyone who doesn't celebrate Easter, happy belated passover or happy weekend)! Check out my latest news story on Comic Frontline about Amazon's recent acquisition of comiXology. You can also read my latest review of Shotgun Wedding #1 on Comic Frontline as well. Here are the articles I reprinted this week: Menton3's The Memory Collectors Limited Series Announced "Menton3 had haunting artwork in Transfusion #1 but in his latest three-issue limited series he’ll be handling both the artwork and the writing. This October, memories will be at risk in The Memory Collectors." Batman: The Dark Knight #6 Review "The man who broke the Bat is back… which would have been a shocking revelation had it not been advertised on the cover of this news and barely improved issue of Batman: The Dark Knight. The characters continue to bore, the interesting storyline gets shoved into the corner of the ring while action takes center stage, leaving this issue at a bland mediocrity that can’t be saved by cameos or corny jokes."
Hello everybody! I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far. I have the usual batch of reprinted articles for you this week. Plus, on Comic Frontline I wrote a news story about the New Suicide Squad coming out in July. I also wrote about the upcoming Mars Attacks: First Born mini-series on Entertainment Fuse. Be sure to check both of those news stories out! Also, I have been getting some requests to review comics. I would be happy to review just about anything anyone suggests but I have been swamped with work for the past couple of months and there's still a lot of work ahead of me. I'm planning on (hopefully) reviewing a lot during the summertime, so please bear with me. Here are the articles I reprinted this week: Worst Comic Book Covers of 2102 "Last year there were handfuls of bad covers, but nothing as bad as some of the doozies on this list. Yes, we’ve gone downhill this year with how bad these covers get and couldn’t even surpass the Worst Comic Book Covers of 2010. Oh boy. But they are few and far between the numerous fantastic covers we’ve had this year." DC Announces May 2013 Cancellations "Following the April cancellations DC will be cancelling even more series this May. Some series finales include Deathstroke, The Fury of Firestorm: The Nuclear Man,The Ravagers, The Savage Hawkman, Sword of Sorcery and Team 7. " Deathstroke #16 Review: Quick and Deathless "This is a mediocre issue. It's not as bad as Liefeld's run on Deathstroke and it's not as good as Higgins run (well, some of his run). But I have to say, it surpassed the first part of the arc in most aspects. Unfortunately, you're not going to care or remember this issue the day after reading it."
Hope you guys are enjoying your week! I have my usual reprinted articles for you. Please also check out my recent article on Comic Frontline entitled "Buffy the Vampire Slayer: One of the Most Influential Shows EVER." It was a lot of fun to write and was done in the spirit of the Buffy Challenge from Dark Horse Comics that Comic Frontline accepted and COMPLETED! I'm also currently still fan-girl squealing after receiving an #FF from Sarah Michelle Gellar's official twitter. And if you don't know who that is... please watch Buffy! Here are the articles I reprinted: Barbarian #4 Review "The very successful third issue of Barbarian is ruined slightly by this fourth issue. The story is solid, if slightly rushed. The art is only average, but the tone and origins crafted in the third issue are wasted in this final chapter, which could have been constructed differently. It's not bad, but pales so much in comparison to the third by trying to connect with it and fails worse than it would have without the third issue coming out as good as it did. It finally creates a very entertaining and coherent battle that made the final chapter satisfying, even if it did not offer as many new elements as the third issue." The Creator of the Joker Passes "The creator of the Clown Prince of Crime - as well as comic book historian and creator's rights advocate – Jerry Robinson, passed away at the age of 89 on December 7th, 2011. He began working on Batman with creator Bob Kane and not only created Batman's most famous enemy, but also co-created Robin and influenced the creation of both Harvey "Two-Face" Dent and Alfred Pennyworth, Batman's most trusted ally and butler." David Kot Interviews Comic Maven Nicole D'Andria "I was recently interviewed by David Kot, the founder of Face Value Comics, as a sweet thank you for an interview I did of him about his comic book - the first ever to feature an autistic protagonist. Without further ado, see what I think about comics and learn a little more about what I do."
