Here are the articles I reprinted this week:
Hello everyone. I finally reviewed the final issue of Shotgun Wedding on Comic Frontline. Be sure to check it out. I'm also currently working on my thoughts on Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con 2014 which I will be posting on this updates page. It's been taking me awhile to upload the many pictures I took of some great costumes and to recap some great panels and I hope you all enjoy it. Here are the articles I reprinted this week: Elephantmen #32 Review "The genre of Elephantmen balances elements from science-fiction, mystery and fantasy. The characters have interesting qualities and the storyline is well crafted, but they are boring. The art is missing the spark I enjoyed in the last issue, and it features only one new redeeming quality." Kick-Ass Creator Fights Off Twitter Bully "Cyberbullying has already entered the comic book world with a vulgar twitter user who's been bullying the comic book community for two years now spewing racist and sexist comments with an array of "colorful" language, until a famous comic creator decided to step up to the plate and take legal action to stop him." The Prophecy Book One Review "Sherlock Holmes. Red Sonja. Vampirella. And one other special and horrific guest makes an appearance in this crossover of Dynamite Entertainment’s most prolific characters. Unfortunately, that’s all we get: very limited introductions and no clear idea of where the story is going."

Hello everyone. I will be at the Philadelphia Comic Con today and this weekend. I'm a bit (OK, more than just a bit) of an introvert, but if you see me feel free to say hi! Also, this week I reviewed Red City #1. Check it out on Comic Frontline. Coming soon will be a review of Shotgun Wedding #4. Here are the articles I reprinted this week: Evil Ernie #2 Review "After a great set-up in Evil Ernie #1, can Evil Ernie #2 provide the carnage I’ve been longing for? There is blood and carnage, and some touching moments… which aren’t always appreciated. But Ernie does have awesome abilities, horror references, and a talking smiley face button on his side!"
Happy Father's day! I hope you spent the day with a dad like Pa Kent and not Norman Osborn or enjoyed some time with your kids. No new articles this week but I'm still planning on reviewing the final issue of the mini-series Shotgun Wedding and the first issue of Red City. Here is the article I reprinted this week: Dracula: The Company of Monsters #7 Review "What screams Dracula to you? A lot of blood, seducing beautiful young women, stakes to the heart and crossbows right? This comic has none of these and replaces them with little humor, no scares and a board meeting. Yes, a board meeting is exactly what I think of when I think about vampires. I expected more from a book about vampires and the direction of this issue had the potential to be interesting but came off rather dull."
Happy Friday everybody! This week I reviewed Batman: The Dark Knight #28 on Comic Frontline. Expect a review of Shotgun Wedding #4 to come down the aisle soon. Here are the articles I reprinted this week: Comic Book "Super Serum" for Cancer Patients in Brazil "It's initiatives like the one started at the A.C. Camargo Cancer Center in Sao Paulo, Brazil, that make me proud to be a comic book fan. To help children suffering from cancer to understand their illness and chemotherapy, the ad agency of the cancer center, JWT, partnered with Warner Brothers to create some very special comics." Red Hood: The Lost Days #6 Review "A lot more was expected from Red Hood: The Lost Days. As a whole, this series had an interesting story that could have been more thoroughly explored and there was a growing need each issue for better artwork. There were a few moments that were very powerful. This issue failed to have any of them. It is possibly the worst issue in the entire mini-series."
