Here are the articles I reprinted this week:
Short and sweet this week everybody! Enjoy. Here are the articles I reprinted this week: "In the previous issue of Witchblade, the story and art fell flat when compared to the current Artifacts mini-series. The story was pretty good, though mostly a set up as the first part of the new story arc “Paper Monsters.” In this issue the story still hits the same notes as the last one, but the colors make the art even better than they were before." "Obama made such an impression on readers in Veronica #199 that he's back – and he's brought Sarah Palin with him! They pay a visit to the small town of Riverdale and get involved with the student government campaigns.Everyone gets along in Riverdale, until Archie and Reggie battle head-to-head to win. Archie claims to be backed by Obama; Reggie; Palin. But are these claims legitimate? This story is still a light-natured comic in the series, and is written by Alex Simmons. He is accompanied by artists Jack Morelli, Dan Parent and Digikore Studios." "How the mighty have fallen. This issue of Artifacts may be the lowest point of the series filled with mostly boring dialogue, a million characters I can’t keep track of and artwork that reaches a new low. After a battle with Cyberforce, Sara and the rest of the team go to Hunter-Killer headquarters where they interrogate the now decapitated head of Aphrodite IV and run into a little more than they bargained for." "A long battle was started by Warner Bros. back in 2008 to attempt to maintain the Superman franchise after the now deceased Joanne Siegel and her daughter obtained half of the copyrights for the Man of Steel, originally created by Mrs. Siegel’s husband Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster."

Sorry for the short and late update! But happy Memorial Day weekend everyone, be sure to thank the brave people who have fought for our country. Here are the articles I reprinted this week: "Finally, after five issues of setting up the story, introducing characters, emotional distress and introducing even more characters, this issue of Artifacts is jam-packed with action from start to finish. This leaves little room for the story to advance very much, but it makes enough leaps that it has kept me satisfied." "Jeff Lemire, writer and artist of the popular Vertigo title Sweet Tooth, will be taking the reins of the artist in Jonah Hex #69. The series will continue to be written by Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray." "Travel Foreman, the acclaimed comic book artist of the popular DC title Animal Man, was recently taken off of the Animal Man title to work on another DC Comics title: Birds of Prey."
Sorry there wasn't much reprinted this week guys, but we always have next week! :) Have a great weekend and I hope you enjoy the Archives! Please tell me what you think in the comments or fill out the contact page on the home page if you have any comments about the site! Here are the articles I reprinted this week: "After four issues of the long-awaited cross-over event Artifacts, this issue leaves a lot to be desired but still manages to deliver a great deal. Just not as much as the last couple issues to satisfy."
Happy Mother's Day weekend everyone! Do something special for your elders! :) Here are the articles I reprinted this week: "Emotion abounded in the last issue and this story gives readers some good old fashioned carnage with some great humor and nicely done art. The series in general has a lot to offer and I think this issue helped capitalize on its potential. The pacing issues people have complained about in previous issues of Witchblade are non-existent here as Sara and Patrick are quickly catapulted into a case with interesting new characters to help and hinder their case." "After a less than satisfactory third issue I was hoping this issue would return to the strong start that the first two issues had. Unfortunately, the flaws in the previous issue of Artifacts have been magnified in this issue, and I’m starting to worry about the future of this series that seems to have started out too good to be true and probably is." "Announced at Comic-Con international, IDW Publishing and Hasbro will be teaming up to make a My Little Pony series based on the crazily popular Hub animated TV show characters from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, loved by children and adult men (a.k.a. bronies) alike."
I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who filled out that "Gender and Comics" survey. It is still open here so please check it out if you haven't. I'm writing a paper which involves the survey so hopefully as a "thank you" - if it doesn't sound too much like a school paper - I can post it. Here are the articles I reprinted this week: "Surprising news this week. It was announced on DC’s blog The Source that there would be a new artist on the popular New 52 horror title Animal Man. Several other artists previously on a New 52 title will be reassigned to another New 52 title." "For fans of the new Artifacts series, this issue is a nice tie-in. The story is touching, but if you are more into the violence and carnage caused by the Witchblade you will not be seeing it here." "After a month of waiting, it's finally here! The next installment of the Artifacts series and it almost hits all the great moments and art in the previous two issues... but it does lack some structure and does not live up to the first two issues. That does not mean it still isn't a powerful issue full of wonderful artwork and colors. The battle is beginning in this issue as Sara and the others battle off evil demons and Aphrodite goes around the world assembling a team against her!"
