Here are the articles I reprinted this week:
My usual questions are still up in the air this week. Is there anything you'd like to see in the site's design? How are you liking the website so far? Please let me know and I hope you enjoy the articles I've put up this week. Here are the articles I reprinted this week: "Another issue of Peter Cannon: Thunderbolt, another issue with a ton of dialogue that readers have to pay constant close attention to. Is this enjoyable? Not really. But the concept is interesting. It’s the progression of events and dialogue that are the real headache inducing mess at times." "After the buckets of blood shed last issue, I was looking forward to some pointless mayhem in this issue. And while I do get some of that, there are also surprisingly emotional and empowering scenes with Sara that make this mini-series feel like a good investment even if we never hear about it again." "There will be more than just mysteries in the panels of Witchblade issues: the covers will also contain secrets! Starting with Witchblade #151, cover A, cover artist John Tyler Christopher (Artifacts, Voodoo) will be hiding "artifacts" for the reader to use to solve a puzzle. A smart gimmick since there is "conveniently" coming up a trade paperback collecting Witchblade #151-#155, a 144-page collection in stores for $9.99 with multiple hidden artifact covers coming out June 6, 2012, while the next installment of Witchblade featuring a secret cover comes out today, May 23rd, Witchblade #156. Witchblade #156 is the only issue that does not have a prize but fans will receive bonus downloads and behind-the-scenes material for free on the Witchblade Cover Artifacts homepage."

No new innovations on the site this week, but please let me know if you like the design and any other opinions you have. Positive comments and encouraging, polite criticism, are always welcome! Plus if you have comments on the reviews feel free to share them here. Here are the articles I reprinted this week: Undying Love #4 Review"Undying Love is the most creative new spin on vampire lore. It has surprisingly good action coupled with powerful creativity and the relationship between the two protagonists is starting to feel more natural and real. The art has some nice touches, but many more mediocre moments." Witchblade: Demon Reborn #3 Review"The pointless sequel to Witchblade: Demon returns – and finally, after two issues with the same song and murder, we get an original issue with an opening that instantly captivated me. This is the best part of the mini-series so far and makes the series feel impactful rather than just a pointless filler."
Sorry but there will be no updates for next week. But I hope you enjoy the articles I've reprinted this week. Here are the articles I reprinted this week: Kirby: Genesis #0 on Sale for $1"For the last five months the internet has been in a buzz over this new project from Dynamite publications. Now it's great to learn that the premier issue of Kirby: Genesis, which will begin with issue #0, will be priced at the very affordable dollar mark. Kirby: Genesis #0 contains research collected by Alex Ross and Kurt Busiek on the legendary Marvel artist and character creator, Jack Kirby. The issue also includes some preview pages of the first issue of Kirby: Genesis." Peter Cannon: Thunderbolt #1 Review"Peter Cannon was originally a silver aged hero who debuted in 1966 and was published by Charlton comics. Now, Dynamite Entertainment has decided to continue Peter Cannon's legacy in a self-contained story that may have been better off as a novel but is still more than worth $4."
This week I changed the format on the "Reviews," "News" and "Features" page. I included the name of the page at the top and I changed the "Coming Soon" and "Recent Additions" section and made them into slideshows rather than just a list of titles. Please let me know if you like the changes or if you think there should be changes anywhere else! I also added a "Sharethis" button. Please let me know if this is distracting. Here are the articles I reprinted this week (the first one went through a slight name change): Ron Marz's Witchblade Run Ends with Issue 150"After an almost sixteen year run beginning in November of 1995, Ron Marz 71 issue run on Witchblade will be coming to a close later this year with the final issue being Witchblade #150. Writer Ron Marz and artist Stjepan Sejic are stepping away from the Witchblade project to work on another top secret Top Cow title." First Look: Witchblade #151"Ron Marz ended his 71-issue run on Witchblade in December, with Witchblade #150. Witchblade #151 hit the shelves on January 4th, 2012, and is being handled by a new team: writer Tim Seeley, renowned for Hack/Slash, and artist Diego Bernard, the artistic penciler of The Man With No Name." Undying Love #3 Review"Undying Love has gone back to being a bit better than the first issue was, with some of the same and different reasons as to why. The story’s events begin before the first two issues and tell the story of how John met Mei during his service as a soldier and how John decides to protect Mei and travel with her." Witchblade: Demon Reborn #2 Review"It felt like déjà vu to me for most of this issue. Déjà vu of what? Witchblade: Demon Reborn #1. It's when the ending comes around that the issue picks up again, along with the artwork, which for almost the entire issue ruins the eerie mood this issue could have had. Get ready for Witchblade, the SVU addition, a.k.a. the same exact thing as Witchblade: Demon Reborn #1 with the exception of a gripping if predictable ending."
