Here are the articles I reprinted this week:
Hello everybody! Along with my reprinted articles here and my new articles on Entertainment Fuse, please also check out my introduction on Comic Frontline, which also explains my new comic book feature "The Comic Book Vault." I will be reprinting my articles on Frontline here as well. Here are the articles I reprinted this week: Tales from Neverland #1 Review "This double-sized issue has two stories with two chances to impress. The first is a great story that’s enjoyable for surprising reasons and the second is a story that seems out of place, but is still pretty good. Both have flaws, but a lot of positive qualities that make up for these flaws… for the most part. The cover story, simply entitled “Tinkerbelle,” opens with Tinkerbelle running away from a group of fairies in hot pursuit of her to find out what happened to the Fairy Queen’s daughter. She is forced to relive a frightening tale of killer mermaids and is banished from Neverland." "Looks like Bandette #1 was too good to be true. With a few exceptions. In this story - taking place in the luxurious country of France - with our Robin Hood-esque heroine (you know, if the poor were herself) we get a terribly unrealistic story and I foresee some artwork mishaps in the near future of these Parisian streets."

The website I write for, Entertainment Fuse, recently got a new design! Please check it out. It now includes profile pages for all of our staff and chronicles all of the articles we've written. I'm still going to archive my articles here though. But if you want to check out my most recent articles and older stuff I haven't archived yet, check out my profile page under the name Nicole D'Andria. Here are the articles I reprinted this week: All Nighter #3 Review"In the next installment of the not-so-ordinary teen drama, All Nighter #3 starts off with an extremely disappointing and anti-climactic opening but manages to have many strong exchanges between the characters through the mostly solid dialogue and the glances given towards one another. These simple glances carried me through this issue with a sense of awe, despite the opening and a few other quirks in the writing that would have been unbearable without every page of art taking the time to suck me in." Mars Attacks #1 Review"Science fiction fans get a simple alien invasion this without the invasion. This issue of Mars Attacks is nothing historically unique, but is a great tribute to a fifty-year-old franchise with great artwork and a story easily accessible to people who aren't science fiction fans." Comic Frontline's Top Three Comic Series of 2012 "My picks for the top three series of 2012. An original post from Comic Frontline!" Gail Simone to Write Red Sonja Series "Gail Simone is loved by many, and for good reason. She was one of the premiere writers for the comic book industry and is best known for DC Comics Birds of Prey, Secret Six and Batgirl. That's why Dynamite Entertainment is so ecstatic that Simone has signed with them to do their brand-new ongoing Red Sonja series."
Hey everybody, hope you're all doing well! Please be sure to comment on what you think about the site. Here are the articles I reprinted this week: All Nighter #2 Review "This series is a combination of teenage drama, weird and somewhat interesting characters and more teenage drama. All Nighter feels like the perfect comic for teenage girls and is an oddity on the shelves. Kit is a teenager with normal issues – school, her crush dating her friend and the murder of her mother by the hitman Kit hired still fresh in her mind. Just a normal teenage life with a few twists thrown in, as well as a new roommate who isolates herself from everyone with a secret."
The usual questions this week: Anyone have any suggestions about what should be included or what shouldn't be included on this site? Let me know in the comments below. Here are the articles I reprinted this week: All Nighter #1 Review "The comic, All Nighter #1, has little stand-out moments. It is oddly interesting with little humor. A reality comic, it has a strong impact when it is not making you feel like you've been sucked into a soap opera for teenage girls. Kit, the main character, has a cynical personality. She seems like the ordinary teenage girl with the boyfriend she can't stay away from, however, she is far from ordinary." Catwoman vs. Black Cat "Two feline femme fatales, both these vicious vixens have had relationships with their heroic nemesis Batman and Spider-Man. So, what would happen if these two got their claws on each other? Find out after a little background on their abilities, weapons and weaknesses in another versus feature!" The Art of Painted Comics Announced "Dynamite Entertainment has announced that they will be publishing a hardcover called The Art of Painted Comics. The hardcover will feature the first retrospective that will cover the entire history of Painted Comics, artwork I love that has definitely felt neglected over the decades despite some beautiful pieces. The project is being overseen by comic book creator and artist Alex Ross who's work is considered legendary." Bandette #1 Review "Bandette, a cute little thief in the streets of France, has stolen my heart and some priceless Rembrandt paintings. Find out what happens to our heroine, and how beautifully well done the artwork is, by reading this review – and then going out and buying the comic, of course!"
Same question as last week: I've reprinted so many reviews that on most computers the list that pops up when you scroll over "Reviews" is so long it doesn't fit on the screen. Do you guys think I should get rid of it? Instead, you can just click on "Reviews," which has a list of everything I've reprinted so far and things that are coming soon. What do you guys think? Should I eliminate the scrolling option? I've also been thinking about updating my WordPress to include previews of my posts, serving a similar purpose to my tumblr. Let me know what you guys think. And as always, if you have any other suggestions let me know. I hope everyone had a happy Halloween! Here is the article I reprinted this week: Malignant Man #4 Review "The thrilling conclusion to this four-part sci-fi thriller – written by the mind that created the acclaimed horror film Saw – has a rocky finished product. The action is the best you can find in modern comics, but the dialogue between the characters is flimsy with Alan's character seemingly forgetting his established character traits for a more macho man approach that results in some cool, but uncharacteristic, moments. It feels slightly rushed with poor artwork and uncreative plot points, but still has some spurts of creativity. Alan and Sara arrive at Dr. Ezra's lab only to find everyone dead and discover Mr. Cancer is responsible. After sharing a touching moment while mourning Ezra's death, Alan and Sara take the fight to Mr. Cancer's home base until the final showdown between Alan and Mr. Cancer begins."
