Here are the articles I reprinted (and retooled) this week:
I changed my comic book cover related features into slideshows so now there won't be lots of unnecessary scrolling! But did anyone like the older style, and should I remove the little preview at the top of both features which says the title or not? Let me know in the comments! Here are the articles I reprinted (and retooled) this week: "This is a list of the best covers of 2010, limited to one issue per series so that books like Batgirl or Fables couldn't hog up the entire list. You'll find a mixture of Marvel, DC, Vertigo and Top Cow with books that included: New Mutants, Gotham City Sirens, Fables, Batgirl, Batman and Robin, Artifacts, Sweet Tooth, Batman: Streets of Gotham and we'll leave you a few for a surprise." "Continuing last year's tradition of the Best Comic Book Covers of 2010, this year I will be picking the Best Comic Book Covers of 2011. Again, this list is limited by one issue per series and is for comics that came out in 2011, including comics labeled 2012 that came out on comic book stands up to December 31st. It doesn't matter how good an issue is on this list on the inside, the outside is all that counts on this list." "Jack Kirby: the "King of Comics." Writer, artist and editor in all three ages of comics until his death in 1994, Kirby not only designed but created some of the most prolific characters of DC and Marvel including Galactus, the Fantastic Four, Etrigan the Demon and New Gods. Now, Dynamic Entertainment will bring all of Kirby's characters together in a new limited series – Kirby: Genesis." "DC Comics announced with mixed blessings that there would be seven comic book prequels to the Watchmen series (the highest selling graphic novel ever). Mixed blessings, because, to many a fan’s dismay, neither of the Watchmen’soriginal creators will be working on the prequels." "After only one issue of partial success, Shinku #2 is poorly constructed with only a few redeeming qualities. I was entertained somewhat through the issue just enough to enjoy it."
