In other online news, I kickstarted the weekend with writer Keith Thomas and his Kickstarter Into the Suck. Then I wrote about the news that the horror comic Aleister Arcane was optioned into a film directed by Eli Roth and starring Jim Carrey. See those articles and the articles I previously wrote and reprinted below!

The third issue will be released digitally on July 21st. You can get print copies at San Diego Comic Con. "This week I’m showcasing a sci-fi mini-series on Kickstarter called Into the Suck. The Kickstarter reached its $3,000 goal in four days! I spoke with writer Keith Thomas about the characters and his success on Kickstarter." "Back in 2004, IDW Publishing released the three issue mini-series Aleister Arcane. This horror series about a former TV horror host shunned into isolation and seeking revenge has been optioned for a film. Horror hound Eli Roth and funny man Jim Carrey will be a large part of its adaptation to the big screen." "After more than ten years circling in hell with Violator, Spawn 2 was dug up again by writer Todd McFarlane in 2009. He began writing a script for the anticipated sequel but said, “The story has been in my head for 7 or 8 years.” McFarlane goes on to say, “The movie idea is neither a recap or continuation. It is a standalone story that will be R-rated. Creepy and scary.”" "The Gotham City Sirens are a team of three old villainesses of Batman – Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy and Catwoman. Another unofficial member is the Riddler, who has appeared in a lot of issues of the Sirens, sometimes helping them or solving some unrelated mystery. They have sometimes fought as a team in the name of good but have also done some questionable acts that have gone against the law." "The tension continues to build in the latest issue of the Shotgun Wedding mini-series. There are some missteps in this issue with it following the predictable pattern the series has fallen into, which basically boils down to Present Day + Past (Character Development) = Building Towards the Conclusion. Despite being predictable, it is still enjoyable."
