"Find out what happens when 90% of the people in the world stopped moving? Writer Justin Gray (The Monolith, Jonah Hex) explore this concept in the world of his survival horror comic book series that we’re featuring this week: Standstill."

"Looking for a new superhero team exploring the social relationships of the characters? Try Argo 5, which has been around for 12 years of publishing and 24 issues. The writer and one of the artist’s talk to me about their project and how it differs from your average superhero story."

Kickstart your week with these Kickstarter interviews:

"The Last Ember is the first series taking place in the Emberverse universe! Published by Last Ember Press, this is the coming of age story about the goddess of fire. I interviewed the entire creative team, which includes several members of Comic Frontline!"

"Death isn’t the end. At least not in Alter-Life. We’re exploring this mind-bending sci-fi comic book series today with the creative team."

And enjoy some press releases I helped write for Action Lab Entertainment:

"This week we’re talking with Zombie Tramp and DollFace creator Dan Mendoza about his amazingly successful Kickstarter campaign for his newest series, Sad Girl Psycho Baby. This comic book stars Sad Girl, whose abilities include making the people around her become suicidal."

I worked on a couple press releases for Action Lab Entertainment:

"Action Lab Entertainment’s best-selling witch hunter Lila returns in this third volume, dealing with the heavy fallout from the events of volume two. Emily doesn’t want anything to do with Lila, but Ivan won’t stop searching for her. And Lila? She looks into her past and gets help from the last place she expected: a good witch!"

"Collecting DANGER DOLL SQUAD #0-3, this is a Danger Zone crossover event the likes of which you've never seen before! Three series come together in this action-packed affair featuring the undead queen Zombie Tramp, the 17th century ball-jointed witch hunter DollFace, and the other-dimensional parasite slayer Vampblade."

And two of my adaptations came out this month too:

Though a fun moment from the con that I just have to share happened at the end of my first day. I sold a guy a couple Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir TPBs and signed them to his kids. He left and a fellow guy at the booth came up to me after he was gone and said: "You know that was Tom King, right?" AKA the writer for Batman! I wish I'd known then, but it was still an awesome experience. And now I have a story to tell at parties! (Parties that I never go to...)

Overall, it was an exhausting experience that was totally worth going outside of my comfort zone and to experience working at a con. I definitely put my feet into the deep end considering the only other con I have ever worked at was one day at the New Jersey Comic Expo... and a two hour signing at SDCC.

If you're still around, here are some releases and articles I helped work on for the month of October!

The following digital-first titles that I helped adapt were also released physically in comic shops this month:

These are the press releases that I helped write for Action Lab Entertainment's books.

I interviewed several people this month about their comic books to help support their Kickstarter campaigns!

"This time on “Kickstart the Week” we’re featuring a Kickstarter relaunching the comic book series Hotshot. Originally published by Freestyle Komics, creator Michael Watson is teaming up with Short Fuse Media to bring back Hotshot, a superhero series with super problems (as well as the everyday variety). I spoke with Watson about Hotshot, Short Fuse Media and his own superhero origins, among other things!"

"This week we’re featuring Ryan Burke’s Coronary comic book on “Kickstart the Week.” Toted as “Romeo and Juliet meets Black Mirror,” Coronary has something to say about plastic surgery."

"A coming of age story. With zombies! Spores: Prom of the Dead is Mean Girls meets The Walking Dead. I spoke with creator/writer Dave Dwonch and artist Santiago Guillen about their plans for surviving prom night and more."

Here are some of my other articles from this month. I hope you enjoy them!

And here are all the articles I did for the month of August:

"This week we’re showcasing an all-ages fantasy story about a girl searching for her twin sister. Published by Blue Fox Comics, I spoke with the full creative team, including the writer, artist, graphic designer and composer (who created a special story soundtrack for the book)."

"Explore the nightmarish world inside the mind of a famous poet with the Kickstarter for The Imaginary Voyages of Edgar Allan Poe #1. Writer Dwight L. MacPherson describes his comic book as "Alice in Wonderland meets The Lord of the Rings” or “Homer's Odyssey meets Dante's Divine Comedy” and shares more of his musings on the book in an in-depth interview."

"We’ve previously showcased the first issue of Amelia Sky. Now, the series about a young girl surviving in a post-alien invaded world continues. I spoke with the writer and artist about their heroine and how they would survive this nightmare of a world."
