Marvel: Point One

There are ½ issues and -1 issues, and now Marvel has added issues with a point! Beginning in February 2011, Marvel will be releasing issues marked with a ".1" from their various ongoing titles. These issues will contain full stories with the workings of future storylines thrown in as well. This will be a great way to bring in new fans who are looking for a good jumping on point to a new series and are having trouble finding one.
Every one of these issues will be $2.99, better pricing during our bad economy. Even better, once a ".1" issue is released, another issue from the same series will be released within the same month (which happens to pocket even more of your money)! These new issues are a great asset for newbies to the Marvel Universe. Check your local comic shop in the following months for these various titles:

UPDATE (11/05/2014): Marvel Point One continued every year after the first batch came out in 2010 and was collected in Marvel Point One #1. In 2011, several other series had .1 issues. The 2011 Point One issues included Alpha Flight #0.1, Daken: Dark Wolverine #9.1, Avengers Academy #14.1, Ghost Rider #0.1, Iron Man 2.0 #7.1, X-Men #15.1, Herc #6.1, Journey into Mystery #626.1, X-Factor #224.1, Villains for Hire #0.1, Thunderbolts #163.1, Black Panther: The Deadliest Man Alive #523.1 and New Avengers #16.1. These were collected in Marvel Point One II #1 (so many numbers!). Six more point one issues came out and were collected in Marvel Now! Point One which included the characters Nick Fury Jr and Agent Coulson, Star-Lord, Nova, Miss America, Loki, Ant-Man and Forge.
