IDW Games Kill Shakespeare Artists Announced

IDW Publishing teamed up with Pandasaurus Games to launch IDW Games. The new division announced two board games that were planned. One of the titles that is going through this transformation is Kill Shakespeare, and the artists for this series’ board game have been announced.
In Kill Shakespeare, some of Shakespeare’s most popular characters come together and are in search of a wizard. Some of them plan to kill this powerful sorcerer while others want to protect him. The sorcerer’s name? William Shakespeare.
The two artists who have been signed for the board game are J.K. Woodward (Fallen Angel, Star Trek: The Next Generation/Doctor Who) and Dave Dorman (Star Wars, Indiana Jones), who is an Eisner award-winning artist. I’ve seen J.K. Woodward’s painted artwork on the first six issues of Fallen Angel and it is gorgeous. He’s also the same artist whose home was flooded during Hurricane Sandy which resulted in much of his artwork being destroyed. Woodward will be doing the artwork on the playing cards and Dorman will be painting an original picture for Kill Shakespeare’s box art.
I still haven’t read the series, but it sounds awesome, and the board game sounds like something Shakespeare buffs will enjoy (I know some of you exist). The Kill Shakespeare board game will be the first game released by IDW Games and will be in stores as of June 2014. More information about IDW Games can be found on their official website.
Update (3/21/2017): You can order the Kill Shakespeare game (for $59.99) and download the rule book here. It is a semi-cooperative game in which players can become one of Shakespeare's classic characters: Hamlet, Othello, Viola, Falstaff or Juliet. With your friends, save the land from Lady Macbeth and Kind Richard or capture William Shakespeare. While you're working together, don't forget to take on your own quests so your solo score will be #1 in the game.
