My Problems with Comic Book Covers
A picture tells a thousand words. Those thousand words are a rant from me if the picture in question is a comic book cover. While admiration can be given to some covers for their artistic prowess (or a funny catch-phrase emblazoned on the front), there are multiple quirks that make me shiver in fury at the realization that these covers are nothing more than quick cash-grabs for creators. The culprits: variants, "Care-Thee-Not" covers, artistic impressments and false advertising.

Best Comic Book Covers of 2010
This is a list of the best covers of 2010, limited to one issue per series so that books like Batgirl or Fables couldn't hog up the entire list. You'll find a mixture of Marvel, DC, Vertigo and Top Cow with books that included: New Mutants, Gotham City Sirens, Fables, Batgirl, Batman and Robin, Artifacts, Sweet Tooth, Batman: Streets of Gotham and we'll leave you a few for a surprise.

Best Comic Book Covers of 2011
Continuing last year's tradition of the Best Comic Book Covers of 2010, this year I will be picking the Best Comic Book Covers of 2011. Again, this list is limited by one issue per series and is for comics that came out in 2011, including comics labeled 2012 that came out on comic book stands up to December 31st. It doesn't matter how good an issue is on this list on the inside, the outside is all that counts on this list.

I’ve almost forgotten about all the good covers of 2012 because some amazing covers have been coming out in 2013 that may have to fight for a place on my Best Covers list next year. But there were a lot of impressive covers last year… both creepy and cute!

There have been some pretty good covers this issue and while there wasn’t a lot as “wow”-worthy as previous years’ lists, here are my picks for the top ten comic book covers of 2013. I always keep it to one issue per series and usually try to only have one cover per cover artist on the list with some exceptions.

It's always a joy to find breathtaking covers that will have the creators of the book hoping that you do judge a comic book by its cover. In the following list, I made sure not to include any issues from the same series or from the same cover artist.
